Colour theory in my design

While chosing colours to use in my Honours project design I considered what each colour brings to the space, and also got inspiration of some colours from things associated with the building I'm designing in.
In my design I will use:

Yellow
Yellow produces a warming cheerful effect, and stimulates mental and muscle energy. Bright yellows are attention grabbers and sometimes show a warning, but I will use a warmer yellow in my design. Yellows can help focus, decision making and being open to new ideas. This works well for my design as I want people to be open to different types of music, and the musicians want an environment they can focus in. Yellow is also part of the 'Busy working bee' image of Manchester, and I want my design to reflect the city it is in.

Green
I will use the exact green from the London North West railway because my design is in the disused train station depot that used to be owned by LNWR, so the green will again reference the context of my design. In general green is said to be restful on the eye. It mixes the relaxation of blue and the happy energy of yellow. Green suggests stability and balance between head and heart, Green should encourage people to relax and listen to the music in my design.

There will be some blue used in my design, but not a prominant colour as much as green and yellow. All the colours Iv'e already mentioned are included in a logo for Manchester so they links back to the city more. Blue represents peace and relaxation. and is known to reduce stress, hopefully this will effect the nerves of the musicians playing.
Brown will be in my design because of the natural woods and cork I am using. Brown is quite a neutral colour that does not take the attention away from the rest.
