I wanted my business card to be a simple design so it looks clean and no graphics would distract from the information, considering the contact information is what business cards are for.
I used the same light lilac of my logo (ede4f0) so that my brand is consistent. The front of the business card will be white card, with my logo printed in colour, and the text beng black. The grey line seen in the image is representing a strip of silver foil I would have on my real business cards. I liked how foil catches the light and draws attention. I was interested in most of the cards with some silver or gold shine on them while researching and wanted to include that element myself.

The back of my business card will have inverted colours from the front, making it mostly lilac with a white circle lined up with the one on the front. I have listed all my information and used simplistic graphics for each one, in different block colours that compliment the lilac I have used. I feel this adds more interest and the use of circles ties into the overall style and design.

After reflection I redesigned my business card. I focused on simplifying it further because I hadn't realised quite how clear the graphics and text have to be when it's printed so small. I tried to give everything it's own space more, and cut out unnecessary text.

I now have my name and logo centralised so it owns the space more, still keeping the silver foil along the bottom edge. Although i moved the silver line on the back to the top edge, because it places my name nicely. I decided to change my name to be printed in purple, firstly to separate my name from everything else to make it memorable, and secondly to add more colour interest as I have taken out the coloured circles in the redesign.
For the back of the card I also made changes to simplify it so to be easier to read. The inverted white circle didn't add anything to the design and instead looked messy. I still wanted a running theme of circlular shapes however, so made the curved edge of the lilac background on the right side. I think this acts as a subtle border around the information written and places it well on the card. As mentioned before, I removed the coloured icons while simplifying my design, because again they were unneeded as it is quite clear what information is there.
